Meet your piano teacher
Our family moved to the Dubuque area thirteen years ago from South Dakota. My husband is a hydraulic design engineer for skid steers at John Deere, and I also teach English at University of Dubuque. We have three children. Our oldest daughter is married with two little boys, and we have a son and another daughter.
As a third grader, I began my own piano lessons. My piano instruction continued through high school. I had such a good experience with my piano teacher that I decided, someday, I wanted to be a piano teacher, as well. My dream came true in the late 1990’s when my husband and I purchased our first Yamaha piano. Some of the fondest memories from my childhood piano lesson experience include piano recitals in my teacher’s home and playing favorite holiday tunes. I do my best to recreate these treasured memories with my own students. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching many young children who have become music instructors, as well!
My goal, as a piano teacher, is to instill a love of music in a student. Throughout the course of the year, weekly piano lessons serve as the foundation for learning the skill; however, it is equally important to provide opportunities to perform for small audiences and share beautiful music. We have several recitals that students may participate in throughout the year.
